Cookie Policy

Last updated:

This Cookie Policy explains how Wordiva.ai uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit our website and use our platform. We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how our platform is used so we can improve it.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, remember your preferences, and provide analytical information to site owners. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixel tags — this policy covers all such technologies collectively referred to as "cookies".

2. Cookies We Use

  • Session cookies (strictly necessary): temporary cookies required for authentication and to keep you logged in during your session. These expire when you close your browser.
  • Authentication cookies: set by Supabase Auth to maintain your logged-in state securely across requests. These are essential to the operation of the platform.
  • Preference cookies: store your settings such as theme preference (light/dark mode) to personalise your experience.
  • Analytics cookies: Google Analytics (GA4) cookies that help us understand how users interact with the site — pages visited, features used, session duration. Data is aggregated and anonymised.
  • Stripe cookies: set by Stripe on billing and checkout pages to prevent fraud and ensure secure payment processing.

3. Strictly Necessary Cookies

  • These cookies are essential for the platform to function and cannot be switched off.
  • sb-access-token / sb-refresh-token: Supabase Auth session tokens.
  • wordiva_admin_session: admin authentication cookie (admin panel only).
  • These cookies do not track you for marketing purposes and do not require your consent under applicable law.

4. Analytics and Performance Cookies

  • _ga, _ga_* (Google Analytics 4): used to distinguish users and track sessions for analytical purposes. Data is sent to Google and retained per their data retention settings.
  • Google Analytics is configured to anonymise IP addresses and does not share data for advertising purposes on our behalf.
  • You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).

5. Third-Party Cookies

  • Stripe: payment and fraud-prevention cookies set on checkout pages. Governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
  • YouTube / social media embeds: if we embed video or social content, those providers may set their own cookies. We recommend reviewing their respective cookie policies.
  • We do not use third-party advertising or retargeting cookies.

6. Managing and Disabling Cookies

  • Browser settings: most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can block or delete cookies via your browser's privacy settings.
  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
  • Firefox: Options → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.
  • Please note that disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from logging in and using the platform.

7. Cookie Retention Periods

  • Session cookies: deleted when you close your browser.
  • Authentication cookies: retained for up to 7 days (refresh token) or 1 hour (access token), refreshed on activity.
  • Preference cookies: retained for up to 1 year.
  • Google Analytics cookies (_ga): retained for up to 2 years.

8. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. We currently do not alter our data collection practices in response to DNT signals, as there is no established industry standard for honouring them. We will review this position as standards evolve.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date on this page.
